Burke and Wills Tree in Recovery

The Burke & Wills
Moreton Bay Fig
is recorded to be
30 metres high and 44 metres wide!

Swan Hill is home to the biggest Moreton Bay Fig Tree in the Southern Hemisphere! Apparently planted around the time of the Burke and Wills visit through the town in the late 1800's. Unfortunately the Tree has been suffering for quite a few years now from a combination of an over crowded root system to a severe lack of water due to the ongoing drought.
According to experts, the great Tree is on its way back to life.
'Experts are confident the Southern Hemisphere's biggest Moreton Bay Fig tree is on the road to recovery.'
